Advancing the Sustainability of Design
The NewMATTER Design Lab is located in the West Lake Design Studio and is housed within the Department of Art, Art History, and Design at the University of Notre Dame. Professor Jason Carley serves as Director.
Our research is focused on improving the sustainability of designed objects through alternative service models, experimental biomaterials, and digital manufacturing. Bringing together faculty and students, we work across disciplines and in collaboration with industry partners to prototype radical solutions.
